The Dennis Farm Charitable Land Trust, a non-profit 501 (c)(3) organization, was created to preserve a rare–and beautiful–historic and cultural resource in the Endless Mountains of Susquehanna County, Pennsylvania. The Dennis Farm was originally settled by the family of Prince Perkins, free African Americans who moved to northeastern Pennsylvania from Connecticut in 1793.
The collection was donated by Charles Blockson to Temple University in 1984 and resides in Sullivan Hall at the University. This collection is one of the most prestigious collections in the U.S. and consists of over 500,000 items relating to the global African American experience dating from 1581 to the present day.
